Technical Consultant

the Netherlands

Job description

We're looking for someone who, like the rest of our team of 'Financial Crime Fighters', has a passion for combating financial crime and can help the customer on a technical level. Do you dare take on this unique challenge?

Always one step ahead

"As security experts, we are aware of the fact that banking transaction systems are under pressure, so we protect banks by identifying unusual behaviour and securing the part of the bank that has been attacked, as quickly as possible. This way we prevent a lot of stress and damage to reputation", according to Bas Uildriks, Managing Director and co-founder of Belleron. "In 2012 I started Belleron, together with two veterans in the field of financial crime, compliance and cybersecurity. Our office is located in Lelystad, but our customers are now in numerous countries in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. As a tough and reliable consultancy party, we have built up a good reputation in the banking world over the last 6 years. In addition to the services we provide, we are now also going to market our own product: CAPTURE. Exciting, but also necessary. With CAPTURE, we can significantly increase the quality with which we can detect the bad guys."

What does your working day look like?

It's Tuesday morning 5.00 am and your alarm goes off. Your flight to London leaves at 8.30 am so you don't hesitate for a second. You spend the next few days at a bank to implement your new product, which works with the latest Java technology. Exciting times. For months you've been working hard and you're well prepared. And because you are technically very well equipped, the bank's implementation team is highly impressed. "This has completely exceeded our expectations", you hear the Team Leader say. You're on cloud nine, because this is what you do it all for. Due to the large-scale nature of the project, you and your colleague (a Business Analyst) will spend a couple of days a week with this client in the coming months.

The bank's employees have asked you to come along for a drink at the pub around the corner. Of course you join them. But first you share the positive feedback from the customer with your colleagues in the group app. After a bite to eat and a drink you go back to your hotel. Another early start tomorrow and you continue enthusiastically with the implementation.

Maybe you're getting excited reading this too, because you can imagine yourself taking on this implementation project. That's good, because below is where it gets even more interesting for you.

What else does your job entail?

As a Technical Consultant you are one of the most important links in our company. You help our customers to comply with national and international regulations. You work on building a sustainable relationship with the customer by gaining trust and delivering quality. You also create and maintain documentation with relation to the implemented systems. You implement software based on the latest Java technology (Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, HTML5). You are the technical point of contact within the project team. You are part of an international team of Financial Crime Fighters. And with your analytical view you initiate improvements where possible and pass them on.

What do you strive for?

Your customer comes first for you. It gives you a feeling of being part of a Belleron project from start to finish. With your knowledge and expertise, you strive for high-quality solutions and never settle for anything less than your best. You are passionate about keeping the bad guys out of the bank's systems. With passion for the product you go that extra mile to exceed the expectations of your customer. Because you realise all too well that a satisfied customer is the basis for a lasting relationship. This enables you to go home after your workday with a good feeling.
